Bad cabin filters can cause odor inside the cabin due to mold and mildew growth inside your vehicle’s ventilation system. The cause of mold is primarily due to moisture that is generated from the A/C system. In order to keep the ventilation clean, it is recommended to replace the cabin air filter every 30-40k miles.
The cabin air filter on the F80 M3 and F82 M4 is located underneath the passenger side (right) glove compartment. It’s really not a hard job at all. In this article I will go over step by step, with pictures, on how to replace your cabin air filter on the F8X M3 and M4.
