Bimmerfest (by the way it’s not “Beemerfest, that’s a motorcycle) has always been in my backyard and although it’s so close to me, I never went. I don’t think I ever bothered to go because every year when I come across Bimmerfest coverage photos it’s just like any other car show.
You got your food trucks, you got the vendors trying to sell you products with misleading sales tags, the parking experience is horrible and of course it has a very uneven ratio of guys to girls. However since (this year) they moved the event location to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA I found it to be worth the drive. Sorry, not trying to rub it in to all the folks driving from out-of-state, but it took us 40 minutes from Orange County.
Last year and the years before that, this event was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA but due to the noise complaints from the surrounding neighbors, the city shut down the request to host it there this year. I think Auto Club Speedway was a great move. Because race track! Our group met up at Supreme Power in Placentia and took off at 7am sharp. I was told this year it was going to be packed. And as soon as we exited, “Bimmers” everywhere. ESS Tuning, IND, Vorsteiner, EAS, Supreme Power, Vibe Motorsports and more were in attendance! Here are some photos from the event.
The cool thing about this event is the diversity of cars from classics, show cars, stanced, bagged and track setup – all meet in unity. Whether you’re old or young, tobacco smoker or vaper, we all have one thing in common: passion for cars. Although I have mixed opinions on the stanced and bagged owners, I appreciate the passion. Each car has a story and there’s an enthusiast behind it. I gotta say, I really enjoyed Bimmerfest 2015. Next year, I’ll be tracking my car though!
I ran this track a few years back. It’s a pretty scary high speed track!
